This meet we're back to good ol' network gaming. As always, a staple will be unrealTournament. However, should there be another suggestion for another game (please keep in mind it should be spec'ed not much higher than uT) we're more than happy to accommodate. As always, it helps to have the game installed before hand....

GeekSoc System Notice: Power Work - Systems Shutdown
Work on the Server Room's power circuits will be carried out this Friday (19/03/10) from about 0800-1200. To accomodate the workers, ALL SYSTEMS will be shutdown Thursday (18/03/10) at around 2200.
Again, apologies for the bumpy service at the moment, but this should be the last piece of work for a while. |

GeekSoc System Noitce: Tuesday Disruption Report
During some time between Monday evening and early Tuesday, one of the network switches in the GeekSoc Server room suffered a psu blowout. This took away network access for our website, mirror, and storage and authentication. With Shell unable to reach the storage/authentication box, users were unable to login, and access their home directories. IRC remained online.
Apologies for the continued unplanned disruptions, but we are using very old equipment. |

GeekSoc System Notice: Report on downtimes
The last week saw 2 downtimes for us. Monday evening - Tuesday afternoon, and Thursday afternoon - Friday afternoon.
The University decided to do some power testing on the building, requiring the first shutdown. It was not made known to us untill a few hours before they begun.
The second downtime was to give time to the electricians to change the Server room power layout. Unfortunately there were problems discovered with the wiring, so we'll need to schedule a third downtime sometime next week.
