GeekSoc is a long running club at the University of Strathclyde that focuses on computing, the surrounding technology, and gaming. Although the official society of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, membership is open to all and we welcome members from a wide variety of subjects. We run several computing services both for our members and the general public in order to to provide an environment for experimentation and learning. Whether you have never touched a command line in your life, or are a long time linux user who would like a chance to help administer a large multiuser network, GeekSoc has many opportunities to broaden horizons. We also organise social events, including gaming events and technical talks, where you can come along and meet others who share similar interests.
Membership:Open to all with the fee of £3. Access to services however requires the reading, signing and returning of the GeekSoc Terms of Use document to the president or treasurer. Services:GeekSoc provides several services both public and member specific.
Public Services are able to be accessed by anyone, though are moderated, and require no membership with GeekSoc to use. Membership Services are accessible to GeekSoc members only. This means that you must be a registered paid member, and have read and signed the TOS document found here. Our Objectives:
