Site Updates and TOS PDF Print E-mail

Some new sections have been added to the site:

  • Resources
  • Calendar
  • Member websites

and some documents have been uploaded as well:

  •  AGM Minutes
  • Terms of Service

The documents are probably the most awaited addition to the site, as with the updated TOS posted, the members who were not able to grab a copy at the AGM can finally get a hold of one and sign it. Also, minutes from our AGM are now up, so feel free to browse and enjoy. The updated constitution should be ready within the next day for upload.

The 3 new sections to the website aim to do the following. Resources will be a collection of documents and links that expand upon what we're interested in and the general surrounding culture. Check it out to get some good links to usefull programs, podcasts, and security information.

The Member websites page is an easy way to get a look at some of the websites that GS Members have setup, and should soon be updated to contain more information on how the webspaces work.

Finally, a calendar has been setup, so everyone can easily see GeekSoc happenings, as well as other tech events throughout the year. A list of some of the events:

  • BCS talks -a monthly talk hosted by the British Computer Society, on campus. Check out the link on the calendar for the topic of the month and times
  • Scotlug - the Scottish Linux Users Group monthly meet. A group that hosts talks usually on the Linux side of the spectrum
  • Techmeetup - Another monthly meet, hosting talks, but also with a focus on networking with other attendees. Many people from local business attending
  • Coffee Meetup - A weekley meet for those interested in tech. Topics have ranged from the use of && in C, self-aware buildings, and just how good the soup of the day is
A link to the public iCal calendar will be available on the Resources page, for integration into your favorite calendar app.
